Why I don't say "Good Job" or "Well Done"

Why I don't say "Good Job" or "Well Done"

This change makes SUCH a difference and is totally worth practising if you're a parent.

WE KNOW that we want to praise our kids and make them feel good but we can easily fall into the trap of saying "good job" - and saying that isn't doing as good a job as it could be!

When we change our feedback to be specific, we not only provide our child with more insight into what exactly they did that was a good behaviour you'd like to see repeated, but we give them much better language models. It'll mean they're more likely to learn and use that language in the future.

Try shifting up your responses and see if you can see a difference!

Share with a parent who's stuck in the 'good job' cycle!

You've got this.
