Water play always wins.

It doesn’t have to be fancy. Kids love water play and there’s nothing better for these hot summer days.

I’m not joking when I say I’ve set this invitation to play up nearly every day. You don’t need a special table - you just need two big plastic containers.
🥄Fill one container with things out of the kitchen. Think measuring cups, whisks, tongs, ladles, spoons and other containers
💦Fill the second container with water
☀️ BONUS: add ice, add food colouring, add warm water and add toys that are water related - we have this toy coffee machine.
☀️☀️Super bonus - add slices of fruit. Your child will be tempted to eat the fruit and maybe even drink the fruity water - win win for hydration.

Leave your kids to explore or help them to explore imaginatively by setting up a scene. Here we talked about the kids making us ‘iced coffees’. Today I added yellow food colouring and said it was a lemonade stand. Either way your little one is going to enjoy tipping and pouring plus exploring kitchen tools that they don’t typically get to play with. They’ll be enthralled.
